The Minister of Culture has just awarded the Medalla de Oro de las Bellas Artes (Gold Medal for Fine Arts) to EAE Business School’s partner association, the Federación Española de Amigos de los Museos (FEAM – Spanish Federation of Friends of Museums). This accolade is awarded to people and organizations that have made outstanding achievements in the field of artistic and cultural creation or that have made significant contributions to the promotion, development or dissemination of art and culture or to the conservation of artistic heritage.
EAE Business School actively collaborates with the FEAM in the organization of monthly cultural visits to museums in both Madrid and Barcelona.
For EAE, this represents a great opportunity for international students, as these activities give them the chance to gain insight into another culture and two cities with such a wealth of history as the Spanish and Catalan capitals.
The Federación Española de Amigos de los Museos was founded in 1983 with the mission of promoting the participation and integration of the general public in cultural life by strengthening the associations of museum enthusiasts across Spain. In the spirit of service, commitment, quality and responsible management of the resources it has to fulfil its mission, the institution strives to set the standard in the cultural, social and museum sphere. In the near future, the Federation plans to have incorporated the majority of such associations of friends throughout the country.
It is a member of the World Federation of Friends of Museums (WFFM), which brings together associations with over 2 million members in 28 countries. The FEAM’s members currently include 127 associations and foundations of friends of museums from all over Spain, representing over 35,000 people in total.
This award is certainly great news and EAE Business School would like to thank the FEAM once again for the important work it does. Congratulations!
