The Spanish luxury brand LOEWE organized a specific staff recruitment event with a view to incorporating young talent from EAE Business School on its summer internship program this year. Known as Be LOEWE, the initiative included various sessions, including a brand presentation and exercises to be completed by the participants. During the event, brand managers and department directors worked alongside recruiters to encourage the participating students to network, all of whom came from different business schools in Madrid.
After the welcome and the institutional opening session, the LOEWE schedule was organized into a series of challenges that put the participants' problem resolution capacities to the test. The first exercise consisted of a Personal Pitch, with videos being shown, while the second was a teamwork activity entitled Create and Sell, in which they had to create a luxury product. To finish off this block, the third and final test was a series of Speed Interviews con Hiring Managers.
Around thirty students from Madrid's most prestigious business schools (ESIC, EAE and IE among others), including six from EAE Business School, took part in the Be LOEWE 2019 Recruiting Day. At the event, conducted completely in English, the students had the chance to interact with con recruiters at the Spanish luxury company, such as Carmen Andrés, the Talent Manager at LOEWE, and María Trujillo, the brand's Director of Human Resources and former EAE student.
Paula Rodrigo, a student at EAE, explained how the opportunity to participate in Be LOEWE had come about. "I took part in the Recruiting Management process run by LVMH in which they chose three EAE Business School students. They told us about the selection process at LOEWE". Mónica Arruti, from IED, gave us more details about this talent acquisition event. "It is a really good way of selecting staff. Before coming, they have carried out a prior analysis of us all. We had to send a personal video explaining our career, followed by an online interview, which was recorded and then they asked us to write our response down again on paper". Moreover, Mónica explained that is was a fairly specialized recruitment campaign "that contains far more information about the person they are going to hire than a traditional interview".
Internship in various LOEWE departments
In a market as competitive as the one we currently face, it is essential to ensure that the best talents stay with you. This season, LOEWE has offered 15 vacancies for the summer internships in 11 different departments at the flagship Spanish luxury firm. This year's event at EAE Business School brought together executives from all the departments at LOEWE that form part of the production and business process at the leading Spanish luxury firm: E-Commerce, Wholesale, Operations, Project Management, Digital Marketing, Perfumes LOEWE Product, CRM (Loyalty & Clienteling), Material Development, Sales Merchandising, Product and Product Training.
The directors of each area explained the specific needs with respect to the vacancy in their department and the most valued and required qualities to perform the day-to-day tasks effectively, such as multitasking, proactiveness and artistic abilities. The executives were supported by Carmen Andrés and María Trujillo, HR Talent Acquisition experts at LOEWE.
Networking among professionals
As well as the activities held throughout the day, the participants, executives and talent recruiters had the chance to get to know each other at the opening of the event, fostering contact between the professionals and future talents with common interests, and the opportunity to meet professionals from other countries. These initiatives gave all the participants the chance to network with each other.
