Snapshot of Employability and Entrepreneurship
“In 2020, companies will look for talent not only based on technological competences, but also taking another kind of skills into account, such as empathy, creativity, commitment to others, communication capacity, teamwork ability and social skills”
Pilar Llácer
Lecturer and researcher at EAE Business School
To train the leaders of tomorrow, we have to understand the future. With this in mind, the Employment Report 2019 starts with an in-depth overview of the trends that will shape employability in the years to come, as well as the new technologies that will dominate entrepreneurship and the future of the global economy.
In terms of Employability, the report emphasizes the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), describing them as “a trend that, along with the digital challenge, is gathering force in the world of talent management”. These 17 goals, agreed by 150 countries in 2015, “advocate improvements to protect our planet and set out initiatives to end poverty”. Therefore, in 2020, companies will not only be looking for exclusively technological talent, but also skills related to the SDGs.
Moreover, in term of Entrepreneurship, the Employment Report 2019 analyses the 4 most important trends that will set the path for entrepreneurship over the coming years:
Employability and Professional Careers
In the chapter on Employability and Professional Careers, the report focuses on the employability statistics gathered from EAE students in 2019. This section not only shows the profile of our students, but also the success that they have achieved in terms of employability and the return of the educational investment:
EAE profiles: The profile section reveals data on EAE’s students, taking into account variables such as nationality, gender, age and experience, among others.
Employability: Among other factors, this section analyses the channels through which jobs are accessed, the main duties within their job, company size and the timing of the offer.
Salary status: The salary status section gives an insight into our graduates’ salary depending on their study format, geographical region, field of knowledge, business sector and program studied. It also reveals that 81% of students improve their salary after their time at EAE
Professional impact after taking the Master: To finish off, this section focuses on the stage that students begin after completing the program, analysing the offers they receive, their, opportunities, responsibilities, networking and other variables related to their professions.

A diverse range of statistics is presented about our entrepreneurial profiles, as well as projects that the School has run to promote innovation and entrepreneurship, such as EAE Lab and EAE Investor.

Therefore, although there is a long road ahead, we continue embracing our commitment to quality and excellence to build a better-trained society. We make it happen!
