Oscar Lorenzo Pazo, EAE’s Admission Consultant tells us about the benefits that have made EAE’s Hybrid Methodology into one of the most cutting-edge methods for continuing to grow professionally by combining the best of both the digital and real worlds.
The keywords are flexibility and teamwork. It is a methodology that enables students to combine their personal and professional lives with a top-class education given by and for professionals, striking the perfect blend of the digital and real worlds, taking advantage of the best of both of them to achieve a first-class learning and life experience.
“The Hybrid Learning adapts to our lives, capitalizing on the flexibility of virtual tools”
The Hybrid Learning format adapts to our lives, capitalizing on the flexibility of virtual tools, enabling us to take the classes from anywhere on the planet. We can even catch up on classes that we can’t attend in real time. But it also embraces the best of the real world. We must remember that, when it comes to Executive training, a large proportion of the things we learn comes from our classmates, from their successes, failures and different perspectives.
Therefore, we combine the virtual experience with residential periods with all our classmates, which are short enough not to interfere with our professional and personal lives but long enough to network and strengthen our bonds with classmates and other professionals, gain an international experience and train in areas that require an in-person approach.
This approach adapts well to any profile. We have had everything from senior executives to technicians from SMEs all over the world. In all cases, it has been a great experience. At EAE Business School, all the learning methodologies are based on the Case-Study Method. This means that learning is achieved through practical cases that are resolved as a team, including a lot of discussion, participation and interaction with all the classmates, so everyone learns from each other. Therefore, we have clear selection criteria and analyse each profile applying to access our masters, to ensure the groups are balanced, diverse, enriching and functional.
Moreover, it is a model that facilitates work/life balance. In other words, it enables students to adjust their study times and combine their studies fully with their professional commitments and personal lives. This is certainly one of the most important strengths of this methodology.
“EAE is steadily adapting to the needs of professionals by adding a varied range of hybrid programs, including the MBA, Logistics and Operations, Corporate Communication and HR Management”.
Students have access to the same services. In addition, the Director and Coordinators of the Master, the tutors and all the lecturers monitor students’ progress on an individualized basis, taking care of any needs the student may have, via video conferences, phone calls and email. Moreover, students have access to different services, such as Professional Careers for enhancing their employment prospects, and Entrepreneurship for guidance on setting up a company, among others, to cater for all our students’ concerns.
The classes are held ‘synchronously’, meaning that they are run in real time with the lecturer and all the students. They last an hour, three days a week, which means that they can be adapted to any lifestyle. The students can interact in the class using the chat tool or entering the class live to participate. As the students are all in different countries, the class is scheduled at a time that is accessible for everybody. Moreover, the classes are recorded and saved in a repository, like a library, so students can catch up on any class whenever they want.
The Hybrid Learning format would not be complete without the residential periods, in which we come together for two weeks with the students from all over the world who are taking the master and the lecturers to get to know each other in person and take part in activities to encourage networking. These residential periods include an intensive schedule of company visits, meetings with executives and training workshops. They are held in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona and New York.
The Global Executive MBA is the only program in this format that includes three residential weeks, one in Madrid, another in Shanghai and the final one in New York.
