Former students are the main selling point of any educational institution. As such, their professional performance is a testament to the quality of the tuition that they received on their programs. With this in mind, EAE’s Talent Alumni Review magazine contains a section entitled “One of our own”, which focuses on the professional careers of students who have studied at the School.
In this edition, the section focuses on 4 young professionals: José Antonio Maíz, Ernestina Aponte, Vania Bravo and Juan José Martín. Although their goals vary and they work in different sectors, they share the same set of tools that EAE Business School gave them to succeed in the professional world.

José Antonio Maíz
“The key factors that have contributed to my success in my professional career include a drive to excel, the desire to learn and improve, and the ability to say no”.
"Fitting together the pieces of the puzzle that makes up the global operation of an organization" is one of the skills that José Antonio Maíz acquired during his time at EAE, in his own words. An IT graduate from the Universidad de Salamanca and student on EAE’s Executive MBA, program, Maíz explained that he benefited greatly from his studies at the Business School in terms of both the wide range of theoretical and practical contents covered, and the insights of the ‘top-quality” teaching faculty.
Currently, Maíz is the Head of IT Services at L’Oréal in Iberia, "a role that was still not 100% defined when I joined the company and which I have steadily shaped as the strategic plan has evolved", he explained. His responsibilities at the company focus on the local infrastructures and communications, the management of the Service Desk, Security and Employee Experience teams, and the supervision and control of other IT services. "I was attracted to L’Oréal by the companies positioning and references, as well as the opportunities it offers in terms of my professional career and international mobility", he added.

Ernestina Aponte
“The greatest challenge is adapting to the changing needs of the market, taking the geographical and political situation, and the client’s priorities into account”.
"The ability to tackle the challenges in a field as competitive as the logistics and e-commerce sector". This is what Ernestina Aponte says that she gained in her time at EAE Business School, where she took the Master in Project Management. Aponte now works as a Shift Manager at Amazon, supervising a team of twenty professionals, with the aim of ensuring efficient and effective logistics planning, with the suppliers of the company’s network in Italy and France as their end clients.
"I am an industrial engineer. Right from the beginning of my professional career, I have specialized in the main aspects of the program: planning production processes and project management, with efficiency and social responsibility, I have worked in operations in the area of manufacturing and logistics, where I have had the opportunity to put all the tools and techniques I learned at the School into practice ", explained Aponte. .
Discussing the professional challenges that lay ahead, Aponte explained that the key challenge is “adapting to the changing needs of the market, taking into account the geographical and political situation, the client’s priorities and the company’s objectives. Moreover, it is very important to keep the team motivated and committed, to achieve everything it possibly can".
Vania Bravo
“It is exciting starting to open the doorway to new markets and see that our service is offered in more and more countries around the world”.
""Understanding how department of a company operates and how they interact with each other" is one of the key lessons that Vania Bravo took away with her from EAE Business School's Executive MBA . Before starting the program, Bravo had always held positions related to the world of marketing. However, she emphasized that the opportunity to interact with people from different countries and backgrounds has enabled her to analyse situations from another perspective.
Bravo now works as part of the Commercial Team at Tiendeo, the online special offers and catalogue portal. "I am in charge of the South African and Peruvian markets. Over the next few months, we are going to creating new strategies for breaking into the United Kingdom market. It is exciting starting to open the doorway to new markets and see that our service is offered in more and more countries around the world ", explained Bravo. "Over the course of my professional career, I would like to grow in the area of Marketing. In the future, I can see myself as the CMO of a large company with an international presence. In my opinion, my experience in sales is going to be an advantage because the Sales and Marketing departments always have to work closely together in order to generate more effective campaigns and strategies", she added.
Juan José Martín
“I want to continue along the path that I embarked on six years ago with the help of EAE, focusing on the most valuable asset of any company: its people”.
The world of people in the technological field is the aspect that Juan José Martín likes most about his work. After taking the Master in HR Management at . que ofrece EAE Business School, he now works as the HRBP at Telefónica, which he describes as "the biggest professional challenge that I have taken on to date”.
"Thanks to everything I learned at the School, especially from the lecturer José Pividal, I was equipped to set out on my career in the field of Recruitment, which enabled me to gain confidence and knowledge in the technological sphere". After finishing his role as an HR Consultant at his first company, he had the opportunity to take a leap forward professional at a startup specializing in big data, where he had the chance to get involved in areas “as interesting as training, culture and performance evaluation", he explained.
Throughout his professional career, he has worked with technological sectors, "which is currently where the greatest demand is in the market, in relation to big data and IT security. In the future, I am sure that I want to continue along the path that I embarked on six years ago with the help of EAE, being able to grow and gain more responsibility in this area, to be able to help the most valuable asset of any company: its people", added Martín.
