Cristian Ferreyra:
The revolution for learning logistics
In October 2018, Cristian Ferreyra arrived in Madrid to take the Master in Supply Chain Management & Logistics at EAE, where he gave shape to his ideas and create Hublogistico, a logistics and supply academy, which aims to apply the online micro-learning revolution to logistics.
Redefining the project enabled Cristian Ferreyra to put his ideas into practice when he joined the business school. With a Bachelor Degree in Transport and Operational Logistics, with a Postgraduate Degree in Supply Chain, Marketing and Technology and experience in operating chains in the pharmaceutical, retail and e-commerce sectors, it was not until his arrival at EAE that he ended up developing the idea that he had long had in mind. "I lacked the basic notions and had too many sharp edges in business terms, really not polished enough. In this respect, EAE was a great find. That is where I learned about design thinking, lean startup, business model canvas, identifying niches, investigating their pain points and looking for hypotheses to validate, which are later transformed into specific solutions for our segment. Moreover, the mentors helped me to focus my energy, concentrating work into certain, measurable objectives", he explained.
"I enjoy learning how technology influences business. Hublogistico is a logistics and supply academy. From that basis, we help companies to do operations better, faster and cheaper through a training program that explains the foundations and good practices of business", he added.
"One of our goals is to bring the online micro-learning revolution closer to logistics. We have to bear in mind that this is a business area that just keeps on growing. It currently accounts for 6% of the country’s GDP, with over 800,000 people working in the sector", he explained.
Mónica Seara:
Humanizing 21st Century companies
Mónica Seara was the Director of Risk Prevention on the construction site at the High Speed Train station at AVE Sagrera, a project on which over 4,000 people were involved for three years. In 2014, she decided to redirect their professional life. She enrolled on EAE’s Master in Human Resources Management and created a consultancyHumanas, with the aim of contributing towards a new management model based on the culture of human companies.
"We are not numbers or machines. We manage people". That is one of the mottos of Mónica Seara, an agricultural engineer, with a Master in Personal Development and Leadership, and a Master in HR Management. For the last three years, her professional has focused on the world of civil engineering.
Humanas’ mission is to help other companies to capitalize on people’s value. The team has four partners, apart from Mónica: Begoña, Vidal, Javier and Marco. They do not have any offices and work from home. With an ambitious and global approach, the project shifts from the individual to the collective, striving to transform companies with the aim to achieve a humanistic and less speculative economy.
"We are not aware of how the bad management of companies ends up undermining its people’s motivation and health. Taking care of people is essential, because the wealth of companies depends on the health of its employees. In my opinion, Humanas is the result of my entire personal, professional and academic career", she explained.
With the aim of making a contribution through her experience, Seara created an Occupational Wellbeing course which was eventually integrated in the Master at EAE. She has also published a book, “Creating human companies (Knowledge bridges)”, in which she puts forward this business management model as a successful strategy in an age in which artificial intelligence seems to be prioritized over emotional intelligence.
