EAE Business School and Nestlé have joined forces to find talent among future university students through a business challenge in a Hackathon format, in which teams of 4 people have to resolve a challenge designed by Nestlé to define its young talent strategy. The objective of the event is to identify young people’s potential and the talent of future leaders through a dynamic structured and run in a completely innovative way.
A total of 15 finalists will participate in the final phase of the hackathon on 15th May 2021 at the EAE University Centre at Calle Mallorca 27 in Barcelona.
To take part in the Hackathon, students must currently be taking the second year of the High School or International Baccalaureate or the last year of an Advanced Vocational Training Program at a school in Catalonia. The deadline for registration is 3rd May.
On 7th May, the 15 finalists will be announced, who will form a team with their tutor, an undergraduate at EAE Business School and an EAE lecturer. At the start of the hackathon, the representatives from Nestlé will present a business challenge that the teams have to resolve during the session. Each team will present its proposals at the event, with a 3-minute pitch given by the participating student as the spokesperson. After hearing all the proposals, the jury, made up of members of EAE’s teaching community and the Nestlé team, will vote for the best proposals and announce the 3 winning participants.
The winner of the Business Challenge will receive a grant worth the entire fees of the first year of EAE’s Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and Management or the Bachelor Degree in Marketing and Digital Communication Digital. The second prize is a grant worth 50% of the first year’s fees for the same programs, and the third prize is a grant for 25% of the first year’s fees. Moreover, both the winning students’ tutors and schools will win a prize.

“With initiatives like this, we show our continuous commitment to young people and education, in line with our program Global Youth Initiative: Nestlé needs YOUth. We aim to foster collaboration and initiative, as well as promoting the development of the innovative, disruptive ideas that the new generations, born in the digital age, can bring to the business world. We are sure that this kind of collaboration will help us discover the youngest talent by putting it in touch with the business world with real challenges”, emphasized Paco Megías, Nestlé’s Talent Manager.
“Nestlé and EAE’s Business Challenge enables us to put young people in contact with the reality of the business world alongside one of the leading companies in the food sector, as well as giving them the opportunity to absorb the knowledge of the faculty of one of Barcelona’s top business schools. This initiative promotes leadership, collaborative work and team cohesions, key skills for the leaders of the future, who will need to embrace continuous transformation and adaptation of the employment market, which requires leaders, not managers”, explained Samer Ajour, the Vice-Dean of Undergraduate Programs at EAE Business School.
