Some will head home while others will spend Christmas far from their families. EAE held the traditional festive event to raise a glass before the start of the school holidays, with a fun party with no shortage of cave, turrón and the traditional polvorón shortbreads.
The students of the Bachelor Degree in Marketing and Business Administration celebrated this farewell with their lecturers. They were all looking forward to the start of the holidays and and have enjoyed the festive atmosphere at the School over the last few days. "There is a real family feeling and we all have a great time together", said Yaiza Gómez and Mireia Madrero, students on the Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and Management, who will spend Christmas with their families, as well as revising for examinations they will sit in January.
Nil Moure, a student on the Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and Management, is off on a cruise to Dubai with his family, while Jon Torres, an Ecuadorian student based in Spain, will be with his parents. He hopes to head back to his country in the summer to see the rest of his family. He has found the Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and Management really interesting and highlights the dynamic classes they are given.
At the Calle Aragó Campus, the party continued for the Master students, who raised a glass with their lecturers to mark the start of the holidays. It is the first year that Cintia García, de México, a Mexican student on the Master in Stock and Financial Markets, will spend Christmas away from her family. "I miss them but this year is going to be really different. I have met lots of new people and hope to have some great experiences". Cintia will go to Rome and hopes to get some rest as she acknowledges that the Master is quite a challenge and, after the holidays, there will be a tough period with assignments to be submitted and examinations to sit.
The same is true for Daniel Ruiz, a Colombian student on the Master in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, who is going to spend the holidays travelling around Europe. "Firstly, we are going skiing in Baqueira Beret and then we will be in Prague for New Year". The first year away from home is hard but he adds that there will be plenty of other opportunities and it is important to make the most of his stay in Barcelona. Daniel is really pleased with the Master he is taking, emphasizing the "comprehensive program, very good lecturers and fantastic classmates with loads of experience".
Diego Ruiz, from Mexico, is a climber and he has often spent long periods away from home. This year, he will travel around Europe and take the opportunity to do what he loves most. He is taking the Master in Big Data & Business Analytics and he is really enjoying it. He adds that he had not studied for years and plans to specialize in the field.
Although she would have like to spend Christmas with her family, Gabriela González, a Guatemalan student in the MBA, will be staying in Barcelona for a new experience. You only get this chance once in your life and I am going to stay here to make some memories. With respect to her Master, in her opinion, it is helping her to reinforce aspects that she knew about before but did not apply properly.
Students, lecturers and faculty members at EAE all deserve a rest. They will soon be back hard at work to continue with their studies in a year filled with new opportunities.
Merry Christmas!
