This was also an important day for the lecturers, who rated the students' energy very highly. "It has been a great group, with everybody really keen to learn and with a clear idea of what they want, what their goals are and where they want to get to", explained Cristina Tomás, a lecturer on the International MBA. Her opinion was shared by Miquel Serracanta, the Program Director of the Master in Supply Chain. "We have had a really international group this year and I would emphasize the students' active participation in the classes. They have shown great interest in the associated supply chain models in the ecommerce section, which affect the whole supply chain at a global level, and we have to make great efforts to respond to these demands".
The students were extremely happy, excited and emotional when looking back at everything their have learned and the experience they have had at EAE. "It has been a year of learning, meeting lots of people and acquiring lots of knowledge. I have had a brilliant experience", explained Alma Arisaí, a Mexican student on the Master in Marketing and Commercial Management. She is now doing an internship in a company and hopes to begin working soon. Ludwig, a Californian student on the International MBA, was very pleased to be in Barcelona and to have had the chance to practise his Spanish over the year. He also highlighted the importance of the topics covered on the program.
Estefani is an architect and she has just completed the Master in Marketing and Commercial Management to gain a more in-depth insight into the area, because she is also interested in commercial management. "I am now working here in a construction company and hope to be able to stay for a few more months".
A number of speeches were given during the evening, primarily by the students, as well as by the representative of EAE's Alumni Community at this closing event, Jairo Carranza, who finished his studies in Marketing Management last year. He emphasized the importance of attending events and other activities that give you the opportunity to learn a great deal. He also referred to the faculty, who he described as "a role model for us, as well as the classmates, with whom we shared had lots of experiences. I am now setting a company and their opinion matters to me". Jairo also highlighted the work of the EAE LAB incubator, which offers tools and support to people who want to start their own entrepreneurial venture. Carranza is currently involved in the process and believes that this entrepreneurship launchpad really helps quality projects to move forward and become profitable.
Alonso Rojas, a student on the MBA, is one of the student representatives this year. In his speech, he said that "I have been inspired by my experience on the program, my parents and the friends I have made here.". Alonso will now return to Peru to start a new personal project and continue working with his clients as a lawyer. Nicolás Díaz, a student on the Master in Supply Chain, also gave a speech, explaining that we are witness some crucial times for human capital and that we have to think about the coming generations to create a better place to live. He is now working in a company in Barcelona.
EAE is strongly committed to its students' employability, with many of them being placed on internships or finding employment in leading companies. One such student is Victor Calleja, an Argentinian student on the Master in Marketing and Commercial Management. In his speech, he reflected on a very personal reason for coming to EAE. "It was a motivation, a challenge. Once I got here, it was fantastic and I have fulfilled all my objectives. I plan to stay here. I have just started working in Barcelona and I am focusing on building my life here".
One of speeches that had the greatest impact was given by Marcelo Cucalon and Isabella Erkelens, students on the Master in Marketing & Sales. "We wanted to do something different, a bit different and not so emotional, something a bit more fun, based on our experience", explained Marcelo Cucalon, from Guatemala. "What sets EAE apart from other Business Schools is its internationalization, and we wanted to incorporate our classmates' experiences", added Isabella, from Colombia. They both plan to stay in Barcelona. Marcelo is working at the multinational Bacardi and Isabella has joined a data analysis company. "We would like to thank the Professional Careers Department for all their hard work", they added.
