Throughout the first week of November, the School has once again reaffirmed its commitment to the students' professional projection, with a program full of events. Over four days at both the Madrid and Barcelona Campuses, a good number of meetings were held to bring together recruiters from national companies and students of EAE Business School on different Master programs, such as Marketing and Commercial Management, Corporate Communication, Project Management, MBA, Marketing & Sales, MIB and Supply Chain, among others.
EAE's Professional Careers Department organized Company Week 2018, with the participation of leading companies, including NH, Volotea, Talent Search People, Le Guide Noir, Avon, Upbizor, Rimsa, NH, Cirsa, Caja de Ingenieros and Future Track.
Influencers, fashion and beauty: Le Guide Noir and Avon
Justo Barreira, an HR Consultant, Adrià Aran, the Talent Acquisition Manager at Le Guide Noir gave EAE's Master students an overview of the needs of the company, which was founded by Gonzalo Cebrián. This platform for influencers and top bloggers is fully in the throes of an expansion process both in Spain and abroad. The company has vacant positions related to Business Development, Marketing, Customer Care and Human Resources.
The ideal profile for Le Guide Noir is somebody with languages (they speak in English and have offices in Milan and Paris), available on a full-time basis and with academic qualifications, although they do not specify a particular field because they focus more on "each individual's drive for personal development" explained Justo Bareira.
Yolanda Ortiz, from Avon, explained that this is the first time that her company is taking part in EAE's Company Week, adding that they have come to show students "what we can offer them in terms of development, learning, opportunities, dynamism and ways of working, as well as attracting talent to our company, of course". Avon is looking for proactive people interested in direct sales, with a passion for cosmetics and beauty. In Yolanda's opinion, EAE is an "incubator of young talents with great potential, whom we would like to attract".
From startups right through to consolidated companies
Ramón Castro and Luis Bajardí work at the startup Trucksters. They both aimed to convey their enthusiasm about their project to the students and encourage them to join their team. They have high expectations in this respect. "We know that they are international profiles with years of experience and a solid background". For Truckster, it was important to take part in EAE's Company Week because it enhances their visibility. "It gives us exposure and the chance to find out about profiles that we wouldn't come across otherwise". The profiles in the highest demand are extremely varied, although they are primarily in the fields of business and logistics. Right now, their ideal candidate is "a person with a certain degree of experience in the logistics or supply chain sector, young in spirit and adaptable to changes, a chameleon, 100% digital with their mind always on technology. They must be courageous and have what it takes to achieve our mission of changing an entire industry. Of course, they need to be a good cultural fit as well."
Ana Hernández, from Alsa, explained that Company Week enables her organization to increase its visibility and assess the potential of the young people studying at EAE. The profiles in the highest demand at the company include "transport and logistics studies, and we are also evaluating administrative profiles". In terms of skills, at Alsa, "the ideal person has to display interest, a desire to excel and meet their own challenges, motivation for work and initiative in their day-to-day duties".
Future Track and Caja de Ingenieros at Company Week on the Barcelona Campus
Specializing in middle management and technical positions in a diverse range of sectors at both a national and international level, Future Track is looking for accountants, lawyers, treasurers and talent management selectors. In addition, for the company itself, "we need an intern for the HR department".
The philosophy they work by at the company is based on quality and accompanying candidates at all times. Silvia Egido explained that the common competences that companies demand nowadays include "adaptability, flexibility, teamwork, people willing to commit and be loyal to the company". With respect to talent, she emphasized that they tend to invest more in larger companies. "Small companies still have a long way to go in that respect".
Caja de Ingenieros is cooperative bank that is firmly underpinned by the concepts of solvency and sustainability, which sets them apart from other kinds of banks. Gabriel Esgueba and Noelia Alonso, from the institution's Personnel Department, explained that there is currently a great deal of demand for profiles in their commercial network. "We need people to advise on and sell financial and insurance products". They are not looking for students from any Master in particular, but they acknowledge that it would be an advantage if they are studying or have studied financial or accountancy management issues. "We are now looking for talent both for our internship programs and on an employee basis to join our workforce".
The two professionals agree that the competences most required to hold these positions are commercial and social skills. At Caja de Ingenieros, employees are given training, as well as being offered an excellent career plan and professional development opportunities.
