Regulating and controlling our deepest impulses is the first step on the road to taking ownership of the result of our actions. True freedom is in fact an exercise in control.
Opting for freedom means choosing and choosing well or, in other words, with ethical criteria. The attitude is what makes self-control possible. Having discovered the goal and chosen the route, all that is left is committing to the disciplined action that makes it possible, and it is here that our self-control defines us as a necessary and outstanding collaborator.
