On Tuesday 25th November 2014, EAE Business School presented one of the main new developments in its portfolio of Masters and Postgraduate programmes for Executive students in 2015: "the Master in Financial Consulting and Management"://en.eae.es/part-time/finance-and-accounting/master-en-asesoria-y-gestion-financiera .
The objective of this innovative Finance programme is to enable professionals in the sector to consolidate their knowledge and professional qualifications with an official accreditation, for which the Master is specifically designed.
One of the key features of this Finance Master is that it is designed to prepare participants to pass the examination for EFA certification (European Financial Advisor) granted by the EFPA (European Financial Planning Association), the leading European association for professionals in the financial sector.
To do so, several classroom sessions are dedicated to examination preparation throughout the programme, using question papers and real exercises.
The Programme Directors are Elena Puerto at the EAE Barcelona Campus and Francisco Isidro at the EAE Madrid Campus.
Elena Puerto is a member of ACCID and has a degree in Economic and Business Sciences from the Universitat de Barcelona. Francisco Isidro has held senior management positions in several multinationals in the banking sector. He has a PhD in Business Sciences and has taken the Executive Development Programme at IESE. He is a qualified Financial Consultant.
The Master in Financial Consulting and Management runs for ten months and accounts for 60 ECTS credits spread over three academic modules (Financial Instruments and Markets, Financial Consulting and Planning, Portfolio Management). The Programme also includes a specific EFPA mock examination module and a Final Project based on a real case of financial consulting and planning based on equity data and market evolution. The Programme begins in October 2015.
“At EAE, we are keenly aware that we are facing an increasingly more competitive environment between financial institutions that provide equity consulting and private banking services, including the recently recognized figure of the Financial Consulting Company (EAFI, by its Spanish acronym). Meanwhile, we have identified the existence of rigorous demand from customers who are well-informed and concerned about the future development of their personal finances, in markets that offer complex financial products. The objective of our programme is to train finance professionals that are flexible and who are equipped to lead and direct teams, generate value and distribute financial resources in the most efficient way possible,” says Josep María Altarriba, Academic Director EAE Business School.
