Ostelea, The School of Tourism & Hospitality, will take an active role at FITUR, the International Tourism Fair, which starts today in Madrid. The School will have its own exhibition stand and will take part in the forums and conferences with the participation of lecturers from its faculty.
Ostelea is the new tuition project for Bachelor and Master Degrees launched by EAE at the start of 2015 specializing in training professionals and executives in the field of tourism.
Meanwhile, FITUR is a global meeting point for tourism professionals and it has consolidated its status as the leading trade fair for inbound and outbound tourism in Ibero-America. This year sees the event’s thirty-sixth edition, which will be held from 20th to 24th January in the IFEMA Conference Centre in Madrid. At last year’s edition, over 9,000 exhibiting companies took part in the event from 165 different countries and regions, and it welcomed over 125,000 professionals and more than 97,000 members of the public.
Ostelea has the opportunity to present its range of academic programmes at the trade fair, its Bachelor Degree and Masters, as an International University Centre specializing in the training of leaders, executives and technicians in the Hospitality industry and Tourism.
Meanwhile, during the morning of Thursday 21st January, together with members of the faculty and other professionals, Ostelea will organize a conference entitled “Challenges and Perspectives of Cultural Tourism”, which aims to explore and promote the new models of association between tourism and culture. The keynote presentation, “The new concept of cities as cultural and smart destinations”, will be given by María José Nicolás, lecturer at Ostelea, member of the Tourism Commission and Vice-Chairwoman of the Commission of Ibero-American Affairs in the Spanish Senate.
On the same day, the Director of the Master in International Tourism Management, Jordi Ventura, and the students on the Master will visit FITUR and they will have the opportunity to get expand their knowledge and gain insight into the tourism sector.
