Strategic management (SM)

Ruth Nash is a freelance professor and consultant in Management and Business Studies. She has acquired extensive experience in business with multinational companies, culminating in 12 years in general management in the direct selling industry.

Her corporate background in the financial services sector and the direct selling industry developed a focus on the importance of processes and improving performance in operations. Her entrepreneurial background includes being co-founder of a sports facility, with on-going executive responsibilities over 23 years, experiencing all the stages in the business' life-cycle, from idea to divestment.

She has also been involved in other start-ups and entrepreneurial projects, with a special interest in online music. The best ideas need to be backed by a strong and clear understanding of the business model that will lead to sustainable success.

An early interest in the world of business led to the decision to study for a BA (Hons.) degree in Applied Language Studies, specialising in Latin American Studies and Economics. The  P.D.D. offered by IESE in Barcelona was a major contributor to meeting the need for a greater understanding of management. It also encouraged an appetite for more in-depth learning and a full MBA course.
